Unraveled in Byron Bay
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend the Unraveled academy photography retreat in Byron Bay. Being among other artists who have a passion for photography and see the world in frames was inspiring to say the least. It reminded me how we all have different perspectives and can step into one scene and see completely different things based on our unique personalities and life experiences. Whether you consider yourself a creative or not you too see the world in a certain way and have something unique to offer, something that others might overlook, you notice. For me that was a great reminder just to slow done and really pay attention.
As part of this retreat we had the chance to photograph a family beach session. The beautiful Nadia, from the chronicles of Nadia, and her family were so generous in letting all 20 of us capture her loved up family moments. The weather at the time was howling with wind and rain. I was so impressed that the weather didn’t hinder this family, they embraced it and made the most of it.
This was a first for me, shooting in the rain that is. But a hole in a plastic bag tied around my lens with my hair elastic did the job. (Be sure to scroll to the end to see some of the behind the scene shots.)
Enjoy. xx
