Harry's Newborn Session/ Brisbane lifestyle photographer/ Brisbane newborn photographer/ Queenslander living
I walked away from this session inspired, inspired to take up water painting and travel around the Australian outback.
Samantha is a talented artist with her framed water paintings around their home focusing on Australia’s natural beauty, from aerial views of desert rivers to Australian Flora. Along with these gorgeous paintings the walls are also decorated with photographs of their outback adventures. These adventures made me want to leave the city, swim in rock pools and sleep in a swag under the stars. You see, I’m drawn to photographs. They’re one of the first things that catches my eyes when I go into someone’s home. I love seeing what is special to people, what has captured their heart. And It was my absolute privilege to capture Samantha and Tristan’s latest adventure, sweet Harry who has has no doubt taken up a big place in their hearts.
Samantha wanted to wait until Harry was three months old to capture a little bit more of his personality and I think this was a great idea because he was so alert and engaging. The way Harvey (the dog) took him in his stride and was so calm around him was such a sweet sight, I have no doubt these two will become very close friends.
As this couple is such an outdoors family they originally wanted to have their session outdoors surrounded by nature. But they were torn with also wanting their first home with Harry and the the everyday moments captured. So in the end they decided upon having the session in their home and I’m so glad they did. As the saying goes ‘they don’t make them like they use to’, was proven to be true in this stunning Queenslander. Every room was filled with character from the framed door ways, to the natural light pouring in, the high ceilings and those beautiful Bay windows. We shot in every room of the house and every room had it’s own hidden treasure.
