Winter sessions on the Gold Coast are perfect for families with young children and the number one reason is those early sunsets. Your session will be finished in time to get home, feed those hungry little ones their dinner and be ready for bed. Gold Coast Winters are mild, there is less chance of rain and those dreamy pink sunsets really come alive this time of year. With the ocean still around 21 degrees kids wont be turned off at all and will love to splash around and have fun. It is the perfect combination of being able to wear those cuddly knits and not being afraid to get your feet wet.

Do you want to know the best way for your kids to laugh and have fun? It is to watch their mum and dad play around. Kids are forever watching their parents and the joy I capture in kids faces when they see mum and dad laugh is priceless. The locations I have chosen for these sessions are filled with nature and exciting things for for kids to pick up and explore. There is a chance that your little ones may get a little wet by the end of the session but don’t worry clothes can be dried but these memories are forever.

Bring out those Winter knits

Winter is the perfect time to bring out those chunky knits and as always long flowy dresses or skirts photograph so well. Light neutral colours with earthy tones look amazing in these locations. (Cream, bone, dusty pinks, tan, brown)

Helpful hints

If your kids get hungry in the late afternoon try and give them something to eat before the session. Little ones find it hard to move past a hungry belly.
Bring a towel and a change of clothes if we are near water as there is a good chance that you will need to change when you get back to the car.
Lastly As you know life with kids can be unpredictable, sometimes the littlest thing can upset them. There is no need to worry if this happens, this is just life and the stage they are in. As a lifestyle photographer all of these moments tell a story and paint a fuller picture of what life is really like with little ones.
